Nylon-6,6 and nylon-12 drawn and undrawn films annealed at various temperatures have been studied by wide-angle X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. In order to suppress the additional crystallization and recrystallization during the scanning in the calorimeter the samples have been subjected to methoxymethylation prior to the melting. Applying the Gibbs-Thomson equation for a wide annealing range the equilibrium melting temperatures are evaluated.
