摘要
The influence of a magnetic field on the spectrum of normal disturbances and the structure of the disturbed motion in a vertical channel was studied. A vertical layer of conducting fluid bounded by infinite planes and immersed in a magnetic field was considered. Conventional units of distance, time, velocity, temperature, pressure, and magnetic field were introduced and the velocity profiles of the plane-parallel flow were determined. Hydrodynamic approximation equations described the amplitude boundary-value problem. Application of a transverse magnetic field was accompanied by a displacement of the trains toward the channel walls, a decrease of this region, and a decrease of vorticity density in the train, indicating a decay of the disturbances and stability of the flow.
