Summary form only given. Computer simulations of the influence of grooves in garnet film on the domain walls of an isolated stripe domain are discussed. Assuming an initially flat domain wall, the equations of motion are calculated by the finite difference method until the wall is statically stable. An analytical solution based on a flat wall agreed well with numerical analyses, except where the wall curvature was great. The magnetic field gradient near the groove step was about 40 Oe/micron, considerably larger than the 26 Oe/micron obtained in the absence of a groove.
