摘要
Now that the initial excitement over the new technology has died down, however, it is clear that silicon compilation is not the universal solution it once appeared to be. System designers have been slow to accept the new technology, and most silicon compilers today are in the hands of experienced ASIC or IC designers. Researchers from Dataquest (San Jose, CA) estimate that silicon compilation took about 30 million of the 280 million IC CAD market last year. And although a healthy growth is expected, silicon compilation isn't about to displace gate arrays.
