摘要
Several high-purity zinc, pressure diecast bars were subjected to different rates of cooling to determine dimensional changes resulting from ageing. The alloys, contrary to expectations, did not grow on ageing at room temperature but shrank, growth occuring only at temperatures of 100 degree C and above. Increasing the rate of cooling after casting led to a smaller initial shrinkage, but greater dimensional change after ageing.
