摘要
Meeteetse field is the most recent significant discovery and development of the Muddy and Frontier formations in the Bighorn basin, and in this basin the search for additional production from these formations in both structural and stratigraphic traps continues. The complex depositional systems of both the Muddy and Frontier formations produced a variety of potentially productive sandstone reservoirs which were later influenced by a tectonic regime that created many favorable structures throughout the basin. Further regional and local study of the depositional systems and the structural regime will result in the discovery of additional significant Muddy and Frontier fields, both relatively shallow along the basin margins and deeper toward the basin axis.
