DOUBLE-BARRELLED SNOW REMOVER.

Snowmaster, a conceptual design which has been turned over to the project sponsors, CN Rail and Transport Canada, for a manufacturing decision. What the Canadian objective is, and what is belived will be achieved with the prototype Snowmaster, is a single unit capable of clearing quickly up to medium snowfall depths in track; yet at the same time, the machine will have the capability to combat deep drifts as these are encountered during the course of operation. To obtain both performance goals, preliminary design specs for the unit include: a wedge-type snow plow, a two-stage snowblower, a set of plow side wings as well as flange equipment.
