摘要
The role of the cooling tower is, of course, to remove waste heat. In a condensation process, it is obvious that colder condensing water will increase unit production and reduce unit cost. A refrigeration system, whether for process or comfort cooling, operates on less energy if the water is colder. Virtually all cooling towers can be upgraded to perform at a higher level of performance with a rapid payback of the investment involved. There are three major elements of the cooling tower generally worth investigating with a view to upgrading: air-handling arrangement, water-distribution system, and heat-transfer surfaces.
