Active development efforts of the past few years have brought a wide range of thermoset and thermoplastic powders to commercial status. Part one of this article reviews some information on the generic types of powders, their properties and some typical applications. Special emphasis is placed on epoxies, which are the most widely used thermosetting-type powders.
