When a ball bearing was mounted on the shaft with clearance there between and sufficient oil was supplied into the clearance, a hydrodynamic oil film was developed with the increasing shaft rotation, to build up a hybrid bearing. The behavior of the bearing was examined to give the following results: (1) When some contacts were present between the inner ring bore and shaft, a running-in phenomenon took place and a stable oil film could be developed even at a lower speed. (2) The speed of inner ring could be calculated from the equilibrium of hydrodynamic friction of the oil film and rolling friction of the ball bearing. (3) Oil flow rate was varied from 5 multiplied by 10** minus **5 to 9 multiplied by 10** minus **5 ml/ev. per 1 mu m of clearance.
