Objectives of the investigation described were to compare the water use efficiency and crop response of grain sorghum using trickle and sprinkler irrigation at a high frequency; and to study the effects that different trickle irrigation frequencies (3, 2 and 1 irrigation per week) would have on the crop growth and final yield of grain sorghum when irrigated at optimum levels and the same overall application amounts. An environmentally controlled lysimeter installation was used in the study.
