摘要
Through use, belts and chain elongate, causing slipping and loss of horsepower. Slipping belts cause cover wear, burn spots, and overheating. As a chain drive wears and elongates, slapping and vibration increase, and the resulting shock loads cause excessive bearing wear. One can keep that chain or belt at the original tension with a drive tensioner. Generally, tensioners fall into these categories: Fixed, adjustable, and automatic. The particular application dictates which type one should use.
