Chronopotentiometric apparatus was used for studying fused salt chronopotentiometry. An eutectic mixture of LiCl. KCl was used as a base electrolyte. The electrochemical behavior of thorium, lanthanum and ytterbium in this medium was studied. The process in all the three cases were diffusion controlled. The diffusion coefficients for thirium was 1. 385 multiplied by 10** minus **5, lanthanum 0. 19 multiplied by 10** minus **5 and ytterbium was 0. 147 multiplied by 10** minus **5 at 450 degree C. The value of 'n' obtained from the log plots was two in case of lanthanum and ytterbium and one in the case of thorium.
