DOWN STEAM-WATER FLOW STEAM GENERATOR.

In the early 1970's, studies were carried out in Britain on a high temperature reactor (HTR) designed to generate power using the conventional steam cycle. The development of such a scheme, although formidable, at least gave the prospect of a relatively early construction of a full scale 660 MW(e) plant. This paper covers some of the preliminary work and test reports on the steam generators which was part of an assessment to define the bases for the major development program.
