On-line automatic defect detection and surface roughness measurement of steel strip

摘要
Steel industry customers demand consistently high-quality steel strip surfaces. Automatic, on-line surface inspection systems have significantly improved monitoring as well as enhancing strip surface quality. These improvements have been achieved through the application of computerized laser-based systems that provide defect classification by type and severity, and a measurement of surface roughness at speeds up to 6000 fpm.
