The Shasta Paper mill, a specialties paper division of Plainwell Inc. was shut down on August 20 after struggling with surging energy costs. The capacity of mill was 450-tons/day of coated labels, printing papers and bleached packaging papers. The paper Allied-Industrial, Chemical & Energy Workers Union (PACE) filed a suit against the CA-based manufacturer failing to give a 60-day termination notice to the workers.
