摘要：
The phenomenon of solidification is essentially a problem of heat transmission. The only general solutions cannot be derived except by a theoretical study of the physical process. These solutions will then be confirmed by several tests intended to establish more precisely the coefficients which are otherwise difficult or impossible to determine. In this sense the author has attempted to show that the theoretical study of the temperature field in the mold was of more than academic interest.
