Study Work Carried Out in 1974 by the L. C. I. E. : Dielectric Behaviour of Liquid Insulants.

In the light of the results of recent investigations made in the field of solid insulant failure in the presence of liquids, the L. C. I. E. undertook the study of the dielectric behavior of liquid insulants in a somewhat new aspect. The new element lies in the presence of a solid insulant, placed in series with the liquid dielectric studied and submitted to field action. This arrangement offers the interest, first of being more representative of the actual conditions of use of the liquid insulants in the equipment and, secondly , of permitting a closer analysis of the liquid failure procedures.
