摘要
In the case of a medium-size utility it is shown how problems regarding gas demand can arise when two formerly independent companies merge into one. A cost-benefit study is made of the various alternatives for coping with peak gas demands, with particular attention being paid to pressurized storage facilities. It is shown that under the given conditions the use of a spherical gas holder is economically feasible. In addition to a reduction in gas acquisition costs, operational reliability is enhanced with this gas holder. For operation of a pressurized gas storage facility the use of a programmable flow rate control system is indispensible.
