Fluid flow in nonuniform beds. Axial dispersion in columns with two-component packings

The effect of particle size nonuniformities on the intensity of axial mixing of a fluid in binary mixture is investigated. Axial dispersion coefficients in nonuniform beds are evaluated using a function describing the bed parameter values in relation to the ones for a uniform bed. The results prove the usefulness of the method in the case of packings with a high degree of nonuniformity.
