Nowadays archeologists have numerous dating methods at their disposal depending upon the possible age of the material to be dated, its composition etc. , and sometimes several are used on the same site to increase the accuracy of the date. The article reviews the main dating methods, including potassium/argon dating, amino-acid dating, radio-carbon dating, dendrochronology, thermoluminescence, and thermo-remanent magnetism method.
