摘要
This article describes a gas chromatographic (GC) method for determining the amount of three chlorinated hydrocarbons in crude oil. A 10-minute chromatographic analysis of crude oil provides an estimate of the chloride level of the naphtha fraction. This method can be used to provide a ″go, no-go″ decision before buying crude in the field and before a pipeline shipment is made to a refinery. The GC data can also be used to identify the source of the contamination by use of the chromatographic fingerprint.
