A revolutionary technique for high-speed three-dimensional inspection, using acoustic 'vision', is enabling a manufacturer of spark plug electrodes to ensure 100 per cent defect-free supply. This article reports on the installation, one of the first in the UK, and outlines the technique's wider applications.
