摘要
The paper discusses the problem of development of excess pore pressure during an earthquake in a porous, fully saturated and square body, which has been studied analytically under comprehensive initial and boundary conditions. The effect of compressibilities of fluid and structure is included. The results are discussed in a wider perspective to include their possible effect on the design of earth dams in seismic zones.
