Effect Nd2O3, Sm2O3 and Tb2O3 on viscosity and electric-conductivity of bismuth oxide

摘要
In order to widen the temperature range of application of bismuth oxide as a solid electrolyte, it alloying with oxides of rare earth metals is executed. Viscosity and electric conductivity of Bi2O3-Ln2O3 (Ln - Nd, Sm, Tb) melts, containing 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 molar % of second component are studied depending on temperature and composition. The nonlinear temperature dependences are ascertained for all systems. It is shown that the content rise of second component results in increase of viscosity and decrease of electric conductivity.
