Propagation of surface magnetostatic waves in a ferrite film covered by a metallic half-plane

Using the solution to a related Riemann-Hilbert problem, we have solved the problem of propagation of surface magnetostatic waves (SMSW) in a ferrite film covered by an ideally conducting half-plane for arbitrary orientation of the magnetization field and wave vector of the incident SMSW relative to the plane of the ferrite film and the edge of the half-plane. We have established that the modulus of the SMSW reflection coefficient in the general case takes the form of a product of fractional-linear functions of real roots of the dispersion relations for SMSW in fully metallized and nonmetallized ferrite films. We show that for a given orientation of the magnetization field and wave vector of the incident SMSW the modulus of the reflection coefficient attains values close to 1.
