This study presents recent work in the application of the Dynamic Data Systems (DDS) method of time series modeling to analysis of environmental noise data and the design of efficient temporal sampling strategies. Noise data from NAS Miramar and Lindberg Field in the San Diego area and Los Angeles International Airport are examined. Autoregressive-moving average models are developed and employed to specify sample sizes to insure pre-specified levels of precision in the estimation of the long term mean level. Consecutive sampling and induced independence sampling strategies are examined by a series of validation experiments.
