Simulated detective quantum efficiency of a model photographic emulsion

摘要
Using methods of digital simulation applied earlier to determine sensitometric properties of a mathematical model of a photographic emulsion, detective quantum efficiency (DQE) values are also determined for the same model. A factor of between 1. 2 and 2. 0 is gained in DQE for each one- atom reduction in the developable size of a latent- image center. The variance of the inefficiencies in the physical processes is the main factor limiting detection efficiency.
