摘要
For more than 30 years, adhesives have been used in the upholstered furniture industry to bind various materials, e.g. foams, leather, fabrics and wood. This article shows which adhesives should be selected for various gluing jobs and applications. It focuses on solvent-containing adhesives based on styrene rubbers or polychloroprenes. Solvents are selected from aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Due to health, safety and environmental risks, the trend in this sector is to reduce the content of solvents by using the so-called high-solids and super high-solids adhesives with a solids content of 60% and 80%, respectively.
