摘要：
The authors review the many aspects of the driver's job and note the need to take account of recent ergonomic and anthropometric data when designing driving cabs. Reference is also made to the protection of the driver, leading to principles of cab construction particularly resistant to impact: framework, energy absorbers, front window glazing, etc. The special features of the seat are also explained. In conclusion, after outlining the development of driving cabs over the last twenty years, the authors give details of current work on driver vigilance.
