SEMICONDUCTOR MEMORY MAINTENANCE TECHNIQUES APPLICABLE TO ON-LINE SYSTEM FAILURE DETECTION.

Semiconductor memories are extensively employed as subsystems in various electronic switching systems. Maintainability of the semiconductor memories, which is defined as the ease of detecting and isolating the memory faults, is vital in maintaining overall system performance. Feasible fault detection and isolation techniques for semiconductor memory systems have been developed which can be easily applied to on-line memory system failure diagnostics. To demonstrate to usefulness of the techniques developed, the fault detection and localization techniques applicable to the No. 1 EAX (Electronic Automatic Exchange) Computer Semiconductor Main Memory (CSM) are discussed.
