In the title compound, aquachloro(1-ethyl-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo- 1,3-dioxolo[4,5-g]cinnoline-3-carboxylato-O3,O4)(1 -ethyl-1,4-d ihydro-4-oxo-1,3-dioxolo[4,5-g]cinnoline-3-carboxylic acid-O3,O4)copper(II), the CuII ion adopts a tetragonally distorted octahedral geometry. In the equatorial plane, the CuII ion is coordinated to two O atoms (Oketo and Ocarboxylate) of one cinoxacinate ligand, and to two O atoms (Oketo and Ocarboxylate) of one cinoxacin molecule. The apical positions are occupied by one O atom from the water molecule and one Cl- ion, resulting in a CuClO5 chromophore.
