Fast Breeder Reactors.

Sodium-breeder reactors are developed in every industrial country just as in Germany to ensure energy supply. The engineering concept of threse power generators is determined by the typical sodium properties. In 1975 a fast core will be installed in the first German sodium-cooled power station KNK which has performed successfully during the past years. The 300 Mw prototype power station at Kalkar is under construction since 1973. Preliminary designing of the first large scale power station SNR 2 whose construction will start in 1980 with international participation has already started.
