摘要：
The SEA consists of countries with varying degrees of development with some being developed others in the process of developing while some are still underdeveloped. This is reflected in the GDP, birth rates, life expectancy as well as the incidence of infectious diseases. The pattern of infectious diseases in SEA as well as the important role of ultrasound in diagnosis and management of these potentially treatable diseases will be discussed.
