摘要：

The management of production, and especially of electronics production, is essentially the management of risk. Some of the risks include the accumulation of tolerances, variations in cost estimating, varying workloads, part quality and inventory balance. Statistical methods are ideal for use in dealing with uncertainty. Yet even elementary statistical techniques are not being widely applied in production. This article highlights some areas relating to statistical evaluation of production processes and demonstrates some significant dollar and time savings available.
