A calculation is made of the fluidity of cast iron melts complying with Newton's flow characteristics in a horizontal mold channel delimited by parallel mold walls taking into account the physical characteristics of such melts and the processes of thermodynamics and flow mechanics involved. The effects of characteristic operational parameters on fluidity are discussed.
