Experimentally supported stable thermal analysis of gearbox transmission system

The analysis of survival ability of attack helicopter requires transient thermal analysis of gearbox transmission system, which, in turn, requires a stable thermal analysis. Taking the transmission system of Chinese ZD-10 gearbox as an example, we established a set of thermal balance equations by using thermal network method. We also built up the heat resistance model, power loss model, and convection coefficient calculation model. We calculated the stable temperature fields under lubricating condition for this transmission system and conducted corresponding experiments. The calculated results and limited test results show that thermal network method can be used for stable thermal analysis of gearbox transmission system in attack helicopter.
