摘要
We have developed an image processing system with an architecture similar to that of the biological image processing system. This system compresses visual information, extracts characteristics of an image, and transmitts the compressed information or characteristics to the central processing system or MPU, so that the MPU's process load is greatly decreased compared with the conventional image processing system. Consequently, a super-high-speed, wide-range, general-purpose image processing system is realized.
