Complex dynamics of microwave electronic devices (nonlinear non-steady-state theory from nonlinear dynamics point of view)

In this paper an attempt is made to demonstrate how ideas and methods of nonlinear dynamics are applied for analysis of complex processes of electron beam - electromagnetic field interaction. New results of research of self-modulational and chaotic regimes in relativistic carsinotron (backward-wave oscillator) are presented. Physical processes in Pierce diode (regimes of formation and decay of virtual cathode) are described from nonlinear dynamics point of view. Vircator and some perspective vircator-like devices are analyzed as well. Solitary space-charge waves in electron beams and phenomenological model of electron turbulence are discussed briefly.
