A specific performance criterion is considered which requires that the performance of a processing system may be evaluated according to the number of data transfers it can handle within a specified time period. Based on this criterion, a communication device between distributed resource processing systems was studied and defined. In this article the specialized communication processor called Communication Cellular Processor (CCP) is presented, which extends the two-dimensional pipeline concept required for very general and specific processing characteristics.
