An alternative way of describing heat transfer across turbulent films (with and without interfacial shear) is presented. The proposed model, which couples standard heat transfer concepts with the essential hydrodynamic features of the film-flow structure, predicts overall heat transfer coefficients which are in reasonable agreement with both the order-of-magnitude and trend of the experimental data.
