An examination was made of the possibilities of using the quasi-chemical group model in calculations of the thermodynamic characteristics of extremely dilute solutions. In relation to practical problems in development of separation and high purification processes, special importance attaches to determination of limiting activity coefficients. The largest deviations between the calculated and experimental results (from 18 to 30%) are found for hexane in propanol and for alcohols in partially miscible alcohol-perfluoro-hydrocarbon systems, where the limiting activity coefficients amount to several hundreds.
