摘要
ICI has modified its strategy. It has recentered its production on specialty polymers instead of mass polymers. The firm has also reinforced its position in this field by taking over activities of different firms dealing with composite materials. Its aim is to become one of the world leaders in this field within the next few years. For this, ICI has several advantages, among which, the Victrex thermoplastics range which includes the polyether-sulfones (PES) and the polyetheretherketones (PPEK). These products are characterized by outstanding properties: very good mechanical properties maintained under continuous operation at high temperature, resistance to hydrolysis, solvents impact, creep. . . which opens a wide range of potential applications in numerous fields.
