Soporcel mill in Figueira da Foz, Portugal controls an impressive portion of the European uncoated woodfree market with the startup of PM 2 in July 2001. The Voith Paper machine has a capacity of 400,000 tonne/yr. The machine consists of a Tandem NipcoFlex with two double-felted shoe presses and operates the Speedsizer technology and two Ecosoft soft nip calendar stacks. Soporcel mill operates a precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) plant and an immense finishing area to enable high productivity.
