RECOVERY MAKES SENSE.

The several applications cited in this report demonstrate that new techniques, equipment and capabilities are effective in practically eliminating metal contamination attributable to the plating process. Numerous evaporator systems are already in the field recovering chrome, chrome etch, nickel and various cyanide solutions. Development is well along on systems for tin-lead fluoroborate and precious metals recovery. More important, perhaps, these evaporative techniques have an advantage over chemical destruct approaches because recovery produces no sludge that requires disposal. For the plater and the user of plated products, recovery techniques have shown that they can provide substantial operating cost savings with no detrimental effect on the quality of the finished products.
