摘要
Some of the problems arising from today's job control languages are discussed, and it is considered how these problems affect the design of a universal job control language (UJCL). While many examples could be cited which would seem to rule out the possibility of an effective UJCL, these examples are put in perspective against the very many situations where a UJCL would solve many problems. Finally an attempt is made to show that with the inclusion of multiple default sets in the JCL the information that has to be provided by the user, in excess of his program, can be kept to a tolerable minimum.
