The presented timer circuit is intended to replace the expensive mechanical stop watch counterpart by offering a small size of around 100 multiplied by 70 multiplied by 25mm, about 600 hours of continuous operation from a set of inexpensive mercury cells, and several facilities including two timing channels. Discrete ICs are used instead of a large-scale IC device, because they reduce the cost and increase the number of facilities. Complete instructions are given for constructing the circuit.
