Investigations of the constituents of the heat balance of marshes, made in the northern area of Western Siberia, let us improve the methods of determining the total solar radiation, radiation balance, and evaporation for zones of raised marshes. The methods obtained are used to calculate long-term characteristics of the radiation balance and evaporation for the discussed marsh zone. The results of the calculation served as a basis for constructing maps of mean long-term and extreme values of evaporation and radiation balance. Analysis of the maps testifies to the anomalous nature in the character of the distribution of the radiation balance and evaporation, which is explained by the spatial variability of the meteorological factors which determine the discussed characteristics.
