Lamellar tearing in HT 50 steel plate under fillet welds is a problem associated with welded structures, especially in shipbuilding. In order to prevent the occurrence of this problem, an extra low hydrogen type electrode L-52 D was developed, and a new parameter of lamellar tearing susceptibility P//L was defined on the basis of reproduction tests of lamellar tearing.
