Frontal-face detection based on skin-color and multi-level verification technology

摘要
A frontal-face detection approach based on skin-color detection and multi-level verification is presented. The face candidate regions in an image are firstly detected based on statistical analysis of the skin-color distribution and color segmentation. Then, three verifications are followed by rough shape analysis, local organic features of the face and the head model. The new approach is applied to 120 face images with complex background, and the faces in the images are successfully detected. It shows the new approach's adaptability and robustness.
